Five questions with J.T. Curtis

Less than an hour after wrapping up John Curtis's 25th state championship with a 35-13 thumping of Evangel Christian on Saturday, coach J.T. Curtis talked with The Wave Report.com about his school having four players commit to the Green Wave -three-star recruits running back Sherman Badie and offensive lineman Brandon Godfrey, two-star recruit defensive back Richard Allen and linebacker Eric Thomas.

Thomas missed the championship game with an injury he sustained in the second round of the playoffs. The other three players were key contributors in the victory.

What makes Sherman Badie special?

"First of all he is a powerful runner. He runs with great power. He has sprinter speed. He is a legitimate 4.3 guy. He has been timed at the college camps at 4.35, 4.36, and then he's such an unselfish kid. It wouldn't be hard for (Curtis running backs to get frustrated with not having enough carries because they spread the ball around so much) it to happen, but it works out for you. That kind of spirit and that kind of attitude is what is going to allow him to be successful in college. He goes to Tulane University with an attitude of team and an attitude of not I, but us. That's what coach Johnson is looking for."

What are these Tulane coaches doing differently in recruiting your guys? Getting four commitments off the same team is a big change.
