Coach: Latest Tulane commitment has big-time potential

Darian Dailey has no stars according to Rivals.com, but don't mistake him for a reach by Tulane's recruiters. Bradenton Manatee assistant coach Dietrick Belvin expects him to become a big-time college cornerback one he gets more polished.

"His strength as a player is just raw talent," Belvin said a day after Dailey committed to Tulane. "He's a speed guy, and when he gets in with a little bit of technique, he will make some things happen."

Dailey (5-feet-10, 172 pounds), the fifth Tulane commitment from Florida, certainly does not lack for competition in high school. Manatee, which is in the Sunshine State's second largest classification (7A), advanced to the semifinals of the state playoffs last year, crushing its first three opponents by the combined score of 172-19 before losing to perennial powerhouse and eventual champion Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas.
