Q&A with Tulane quarterbacks coach Mike Neu

Have you ever played multiple quarterbacks before?

"It's happened before. I haven't done it at the college level but certainly I've done before in the arena league, but you never prepare for that. If it works out that way then that's the situation at hand and you deal with it. But you never go in and say, hey, I want to play a bunch of different guys at quarterback. That's certainly something you don't always plan on but if that happens and you have capable guys and you have confidence in them, then they'll step in and they'll do their job."

How hard has it been dividing the reps among Devin (Powell), Nick (Montana) and Jordy (Joseph)?

"With the quarterbacks, we try to divide the reps up the best we can. Certainly , the guy that you anticipate will get the bulk of the playing time will get a majority of the reps but guys still get a lot of reps because of the structure of practice that CJ has set up. Guys get plenty of work and even when they aren't in, they get plenty of mental work on the sliding and we certainly teach off the film also."

How is Powell doing?

"He's done a really nice job from a year ago until now. It comes from him being more comfortable with the offense. He works everyday really hard in practice, he always come with a good attitude."
