Tulane bowl notebook: Nick Montana back

Both teams in the New Orleans Bowl have quarterback questions entering Saturday night's New Orleans Bowl, but Tulane's Nick Montana took the first step to answering his by participating in Tuesday's practice at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. He alternated with normal backup Devin Powell in the first hour of practice after sitting out most of the first week of bowl preparation.

"He's doing real good," Johnson said before practice. "Both of those guys are throwing the ball well."

Montana was even more succinct.

"I feel good," he said.

UL-Lafayette quarterback Terrence Broadway missed the final regular season game against South Alabama on Dec. 7 after breaking his right (throwing) arm a week earlier against Louisiana-Monroe. Broadway has said he hopes to play, but coach Mark Hudspeth termed him "doubtful" after the team arrived in New Orleans.
